The Suite Spot #011: GPT-5 is out, and it's about to change sales forever.
3 powerful ways to leverage GPT-5 to drive revenue ↑
What’s new in GPT-5
OpenAI released ChatGPT-5 on August 7th 2025. To the average Joe, that means better responses to their queries. To the tech nerds, who knows - maybe some better learning algorithms.
But to Salespeople + Founders? There’s an avalanche of new features and improvements that are seriously going to change the way rev gen activity is approached.
Buckle up.
ChatGPT-5 now allows you to:
Call on an AI agents
Abstract your needs without asking (Deep thinking)
Code fully functional web assets for any platform
Hunt for buying signals like never before
& so much more
I’ve been playing around with it both as a startup Founder and as a Salesperson - and every time I jump on I discover something totally new and highly valuable to our work.
Here are just a few use cases that were uncovered:
Use Cases for Sales & Startups
1. Deep Persona Search
One of the most rapidly growing focuses in sales today is ICP characterization and how deep we can get with it.
Today, buyers expect hyper-personalized buyer journeys and flawless outreach. That means knowing more about them than is publicly available a lot of the time.
How GPT-5 Expands the Playing Field
i) I gave it our two best clients and described their initial reason for taking a call with us.
The strengths they already had
The challenges they were still facing
The key initiatives we took to help them see massive results
ii) I then gave it our website and case studies and asked: “What other companies, in similar or adjacent industries, could see similar results as {{client 1}} & {{client 2}}? Provide rationales for each”
iii) It then returned a list of 50 “lookalike companies” that would normally never show up on a database tool like Apollo or Lusha.
Just to give you an idea of how clever GPT-5 is -
One of the strengths these clients both had was they already figured out marketing and had strong outbound.
GPT-5 then came up with an algorithm similar to semrush or SpyFu to estimate monthly web visitors and opt-in rates to qualify lookalike companies.
Definitely worth a try if your ICP has similar characteristics.
2. Rapid Lead Magnet Turnaround
Another great use case I discovered was its ability to “vibe code” with minimal instructions. I AM NOT A TECHNICAL PERSON, and was still able to produce a viable widget in under 30 minutes.
A lot of our prospects come to us once they realize their teams are underperforming - problem is, most prospects can’t visualize what their teams could be bringing in more every year if they did improve.
So, I built this Performance Uplift Calculator without writing a single line of code.
How GPT-5 Eliminates Technical Roadblocks
i) I started by telling GPT-5 what I want to build, for who and for what purpose
ii) Described the inputs and the outputs. Included any equations that I wanted done in a specific way.
iii) Allowed it to produce a first draft, then asked for visual or technical edits as we went until I was pleased with the final product.
Going through this I had one thought the entire time:
I never have to wait on a web developer again to spin up website improvements, landing pages or lead magnets 🥳
But more importantly to salespeople and non-technical founders: this now adds a dimension of technical advantage to your outreach + lead gen. Imagine:
Each segment gets its own custom, highly personalized tool to address the exact problem you’re pointing to in your outreach.
Example - Check out this Nurse Staffing Cost Calculator we spun up for one of our client co’s in Atlantic Canada. Each line cost changes to the province’s specific employment laws and collective agreements (I’ll bet my life it’s a 1-of-1 tool currently)
3. Personalized Sales Assets
If we were to poke into your porposal process, would we see a tortured spreadsheet with timelines, KPIs, costs and other information your prospect will most definitely get confused by while trying to decipher it?
Gone are those days.
How GPT-5 Supports Deal Success
I wasn’t sure what I was looking for at first, but knew I really like the concept behind Aligned. Only problem is, it’s hard to orient every buyer to the platform and setup the digital deal room for each’s own priorities, decision processes and buying committees.
So I thought why not flip it on its head? Instead of conforming the buyer to the platform, we can conform the platform to the buyer with AI.
i) I asked GPT-5 to look at Aligned and all of our proposal materials from the buyer’s perspective and return what it would take to orient them to the proposal process with minimal confusion
ii) I then asked it to come up with a more intuitive interface that doesn’t require navigating through dozens of hyperlinked documents - hosting all dashboards, spreadsheets and other tools natively - and to adapt it to a mock prospect’s buying process.
iii) It shared the complete infrastructure and scaffolding for a white-label, branded app that I can import directly to Vercel and connect to a database without any technical knowledge
and the best part: It shared grade-school instructions on how I can ask it to customize this app for each and every new prospect without ever coding it myself.
This is only the beginning…
I’ve only played with this newest version for 1.5 weeks, and already the floodgates have opened on multiple GTM fronts.
I recommend to anyone who is serious about GTM and rev gen to dive deep and get creative asap,
Because in a few months at the latest,
This train will be leaving the station. And many will get left behind.
